Samsung has started rolling out the May 2026 security update after a slight delay. The patch initially arrived on select mid-range Galaxy A models before appearing on pricier devices in the Galaxy S and XCover lines.
At this point, the update is available for the following devices: Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, Galaxy S26 Ultra, Galaxy A57, Galaxy A56, Galaxy A55, Galaxy A54, Galaxy A06, plus the Galaxy XCover 7 Pro and Galaxy XCover 6 Pro.
The rollout is happening in stages, so the list of supported devices will expand in the coming days. Users can check for the patch manually under system settings in the software update section.
According to Samsung, the May update addresses 37 vulnerabilities. It includes fixes from Google covering critical and high-severity issues, along with patches specific to Samsung devices.
Despite the slight delay, the update schedule remains on track. Meanwhile, the company is continuing to develop its software platform: the stable release of One UI 8.5 is rolling out, One UI 9.0 is being tested, and the next version of the shell is already in internal discussions.
