LG has introduced the UltraGear 25G590B gaming monitor, which the company calls the first display with a native 1000 Hz refresh rate at Full HD resolution. The new model is aimed at esports and competitive gaming, where even minimal latency and maximum smoothness can make a difference.

The main distinction of the UltraGear 25G590B from other announced 1000 Hz monitors is that it can operate at that frequency specifically at 1080p. Previously, similar solutions typically used a dual-mode scheme and reached 1000 Hz or higher only when dropping resolution to 720p. For large screens, this noticeably degraded image clarity, whereas LG promises to maintain the more familiar and player-preferred Full HD.

The monitor features a 24.5-inch IPS panel, making it especially suitable for dynamic shooters and other competitive disciplines. Support for Motion Blur Reduction Pro technology is also claimed, which should improve the clarity of moving objects and reduce blur in fast scenes. Additionally, LG added AI-based functions, including AI Scene Optimization for automatic image adjustment based on the game and AI Sound for spatial audio.

However, unlocking the full potential of 1000 Hz will not be easy. For the monitor to truly show its maximum, the game needs to run at roughly 1000 frames per second, and that level of performance remains extremely rare even for top-tier gaming systems. In some esports titles like CS2, it is possible to approach 800-900 FPS, but that requires a very powerful configuration.

LG calls the UltraGear 25G590B an important milestone in the evolution of gaming monitors, as the device for the first time combines extreme refresh rate with full 1080p resolution without an obvious compromise in clarity. Sales of the new product are expected to begin in the second half of 2026, but the company has not yet disclosed the price.
