Spotify users are dealing with another irritating issue following the latest app update. This time the bug affects CarPlay: when an iPhone is connected to a car, the service may display incorrect information about the currently playing music. The screen can show the wrong track name, artist, album, or cover art, while a completely different song is playing through the speakers.
Complaints are already piling up on Reddit and Spotify's official forum. In some cases, CarPlay shows data from the previous track; in others, it mixes elements from different songs—for example, the correct album but the wrong artist, cover, and title. This makes using Spotify behind the wheel significantly less convenient, especially for drivers who rely on the car's display rather than their phone.
Some users have also encountered a separate problem: launching Spotify through CarPlay sometimes results in a blank screen. According to reports, the bug started showing up in large numbers after the latest Spotify update, which began rolling out last week. That same update also introduced a controversial disco ball icon that drew harsh criticism from many users.
Spotify has acknowledged the issue. The company stated that an engineering team is working on a fix, and more details are expected in the coming days. There is no specific release date for a patch yet, but affected users will have to wait for an app update or temporarily switch to another music service in the car.
