The Trump Mobile T1 Phone has finally started shipping to some customers after a long delay and rumors that it might never reach the market. Now the first details have emerged not only about the phone itself but also about what's in the box, which is surprisingly generous compared to many models from Apple, Samsung, and Google.
Along with a braided USB-C cable, the Trump Phone package includes a charger and a transparent protective case. That's a rarity these days, since most current smartphones from major brands only come with a cable, leaving you to buy the charger and case separately. In that regard, the T1 Phone delivers a more practical set right out of the box, though charging specs haven't been revealed yet.
According to CNET, the smartphone itself has a plastic back cover and ships with pre-installed apps Doctegrity and Truth Social. Another notable detail is a watermark on photos taken with the device's camera: images display the T1 logo, date, and time. It's not yet known whether this mark can be disabled in the camera settings.
Despite the start of shipments, many questions remain about the Trump Phone. The publication notes that its pre-order was expedited because it was for CNET, which may not reflect the experience of regular buyers. Additionally, the device looks and technically resembles a rebadged HTC U24 Pro from 2024, and there have been concerns about the Trump Mobile site regarding potential user data leaks.
Ultimately, the Trump Phone's biggest selling point is pretty down-to-earth: you get a charger and a case in the box. But that's not enough to make it an obvious purchase. There are plenty of affordable Android phones from established brands that offer clear support, a solid reputation, and fewer launch controversies.
