Xiaomi just unveiled the Xiaomi 17 Max, and a complete teardown video of the phone is already online. The clip was published by the Chinese YouTube channel WekiHome, offering a detailed look at the internal layout, battery, cameras, cooling system, and other components.

The Xiaomi 17 Max is an unexpected addition to the company's flagship lineup. Earlier, Xiaomi had already launched the Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max in China, followed by the 17 Ultra. This new model with the Max badge arrived a few months after the last release and is the first such device in Xiaomi's premium series.

Specs-wise, the phone is a large flagship built for endurance and multimedia. It packs a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display with 1200x2608 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness up to 3,500 nits. RAM options are 12 or 16GB, with storage choices of 256 or 512GB.

The camera setup includes a 200-megapixel main sensor with optical stabilization, a 50-megapixel telephoto with 3x optical zoom and OIS, and a 50-megapixel ultrawide module. Selfies are handled by a 32-megapixel front shooter, and the software is Android 16 with HyperOS 3.

A standout feature of the Xiaomi 17 Max is its 8,000 mAh battery. It supports 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and reverse wired and wireless charging at 22.5W. It's the combination of this massive battery, a large screen, and a flagship processor that makes the teardown especially compelling—it reveals how Xiaomi managed to fit all this hardware inside the chassis.

The teardown video hitting the web immediately after the launch underscores the strong interest in this model. Xiaomi positions the 17 Max not just as a supersized flagship, but as a distinct device for those who prioritize a big display, powerful performance, advanced cameras, and maximum battery life.
