The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 have been spotted in China's 3C certification database, offering the first clues about their charging capabilities. The devices, with model numbers SM-L3550 and SM-L7150, are listed with support for 10W charging. The SM-L3550 is expected to be the Galaxy Watch9, while the SM-L7150 likely corresponds to the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. If these details hold, Samsung is sticking with the same charging speed as the previous generation—both the Galaxy Watch8 and Galaxy Watch Ultra also offered 10W charging.
With no bump in charging power, all eyes are on battery life. If Samsung keeps the same charging speed, users will hope for gains from a more efficient chipset, One UI Watch optimizations, new power-saving features, or a larger battery—especially in the Ultra model.
Samsung hasn't revealed the full specs of the new watches yet, but it has confirmed that several Galaxy Watch models are in the pipeline and has teased new health features in the updated Samsung Health app. In addition to the Watch9 and Watch Ultra 2, the company may also launch a Galaxy Watch9 Classic, which would likely share the same 10W charging.
The new watches are expected to debut alongside Samsung's foldable phones at the next Galaxy Unpacked event. Rumors point to a July 22 date in London. If Samsung does unveil multiple wearables at once, the Galaxy Watch lineup this year may not bring a big leap in charging speed, but rather a refined update focused on health, battery life, and software features.
