Samsung has offered its first official hint at a future wide-screen foldable smartphone, expected to launch as the Galaxy Z Fold8. After months of leaks, the company published six mysterious teasers on social media. Samsung does not name the device directly, but the focus is clearly on a new form factor.
In the clips, the company repeats visual hints at a wider body and uses phrases such as “A New Shape” and “A Bold Stroke”. That lines up neatly with earlier rumors that the Galaxy Z Fold8 will get a reworked aspect ratio and feel more comfortable to use with both the outer and inner displays.
The teasers still do not show the phone in full or reveal any specifications. But the start of the promo campaign suggests the official announcement is getting close. Rumor has it that Samsung will unveil its new foldables on July 22, although the company has not confirmed the event date yet. The Galaxy Z Fold8 is expected to debut alongside the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip8. If the leaks prove accurate, the wider screen could become one of the Fold8’s biggest differences from previous generations, often criticized for their tall and narrow cover display.
For now, Samsung is sticking to short teasers, but the next step will likely be an event-date announcement and more detailed design materials. The original report did not list prices.
