Huawei Mate XTs triple-fold adds stylus, Red Maple camera

Huawei has officially confirmed new details about its flagship triple-fold smartphone, the Mate XTs, set to launch on September 4. It will be the company’s second device of this kind and arrives with a slate of thoughtful refinements.

The Mate XTs will be offered in black, red, white, and a new Hibiscus Purple. For the first time in Huawei’s foldable range, there’s stylus support, enabling note-taking and file work directly on the large screen — a long-overdue addition that makes the big canvas feel purposeful. Memory options are generous: 16 GB of RAM with 256 GB, 512 GB, or even 1 TB of storage. Huawei opened preorders in China today.

The camera setup sits in a familiar octagonal module and includes a main sensor, an ultrawide, a periscope lens, and the new multispectral Red Maple sensor. Debuting in the Mate 70 series, Red Maple captures a wider spectrum of light, delivering more accurate, true-to-life color in both photos and video.

Inside, the Kirin 9020 runs a 1+3+4 architecture: a performance Taishan core at 2.5 GHz, three mid cores at 2.15 GHz, and four efficiency cores at 1.6 GHz. Graphics are handled by the Maleoon 920 at 840 MHz. The phone will also support satellite connectivity, expanding its usefulness across different scenarios.
