Bang & Olufsen has unexpectedly moved into a new device category with Powerbank, a premium magnetic external battery with Qi2 support. The company, usually associated with expensive headphones and speakers, is not chasing record charging speeds here. Instead, the focus is on signature design and expensive materials.

The power bank has a 5000 mAh battery, magnetic wireless Qi2 charging at up to 15 W and wired charging over USB-C at up to 20 W. The same USB-C port is used to recharge the accessory and accepts up to 18 W. Bang & Olufsen says just five minutes of charging can add up to 3.5 hours of extra playback for its flagship Beoplay H100 headphones.

The new accessory was created as a companion to Beoplay H100, but it is not limited to headphones. Powerbank works with Qi2 smartphones, including the latest iPhone 17 and Google Pixel 10, as well as regular USB-C devices. In terms of features, it is a fairly standard compact battery, but visually it stands apart from most rivals.

The body is made from glass and aluminum, with diamond-cut details and a matte texture. The accessory comes in Infinite Black and Hourglass Sand, colors matched to Beoplay H100. That finish and overall premium feel are meant to justify the price, because similar models can be found much cheaper if charging specs are all that matter.

In Europe, Bang & Olufsen Powerbank costs €145. For comparison, similar 5000 mAh Qi2 power banks from Anker and Ugreen in the US usually cost around $50–60. So Bang & Olufsen’s new accessory is aimed mainly at people who care about design, materials and fit with the brand’s ecosystem, not the best value for every watt of charging.
