Nothing is preparing to unveil the fully wireless Ear (3a) earbuds on July 7, but the model has already appeared in high-quality images ahead of the official presentation. According to WinFuture, the renders went online early because of a mistake by an online retailer. They show the earbuds in four colors: white, yellow, pink and black.
Visually, the Nothing Ear (3a) look almost unchanged from the previous Nothing Ear (a). The company keeps its signature transparent style: the charging case has a clear lid, so it is easy to see whether the earbuds are inside, while the buds themselves are partly made from transparent plastic. The overall shape remains familiar for stem-style TWS earbuds.
According to the leak, the earbuds use 12 mm dynamic drivers. Despite the expected affordable price, the Nothing Ear (3a) are said to support Sony LDAC, a Bluetooth codec for high-quality audio transmission at up to 32-bit/96 kHz and up to 990 kbps. There should also be a touch area on the stem that can be used, among other things, to quickly record voice notes.
Active noise cancellation has not been officially confirmed in the leak, but its return looks fairly likely: the previous Nothing Ear (a) already supported ANC. If the feature stays, the Ear (3a) could become one of the more interesting budget TWS options for the money.
The expected recommended price of the Nothing Ear (3a) is €99, or roughly $115. For that money, buyers may get Nothing’s transparent design, LDAC support, large 12 mm drivers and, quite possibly, active noise cancellation.
