Expected prices in South Korea have appeared for Samsung’s next foldable smartphones. If the latest leak is correct, the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip8 will become more expensive on Samsung’s home market than last year’s models by roughly 200,000 won. The figures refer to the base versions with 256 GB of storage.

The Galaxy Z Fold8 is said to start at 2,278,000 won, or about $1499. The pricier Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra could begin at 2,577,000 won, roughly $1685. The compact Galaxy Z Flip8, according to the rumor, may cost from 1,683,000 won, or about $1099.

Those prices look believable against earlier leaks for the European market and the broader rise in the cost of foldable devices. The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra should become the most expensive model in the new lineup, while the standard Fold8 keeps the role of Samsung’s main large foldable phone. The Galaxy Z Flip8 will remain the more accessible option in the “clamshell” format.

According to sources, Samsung will open pre-orders in South Korea on July 28, and they will run until August 4. First deliveries for pre-order buyers are expected on the same day, August 4, while open sales may begin on August 7.

The official presentation of the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra and Galaxy Z Flip8 is expected to take place on July 22 at Galaxy Unpacked in London. Prices could still change before the announcement, but the fresh leak already makes one thing clear: Samsung’s new foldables are unlikely to get cheaper.
