Xiaomi appears to be preparing a HyperOS 3.3 interim update based on Android 17, according to fresh leaks. The next big step was previously expected to be HyperOS 4, but new firmware for several flagship models points to an earlier beta release that could arrive soon.
Xiaomi has not officially confirmed HyperOS 3.3 yet, but traces of these builds have already appeared across several regions. The list reportedly includes Xiaomi 17 versions for China, Europe, India and the global market, Xiaomi 17 Ultra in the same regional variants, and Xiaomi 15T Pro for global, European and Russian markets.
Unlike HyperOS 4, version 3.3 is unlikely to bring a major redesign or a large set of visible new features. It looks more like a transitional build that keeps the core HyperOS 3.1 experience while adding Android 17 API support, stability improvements, performance tweaks and other system-level changes.
The main role of HyperOS 3.3 is to prepare the ground for the next big upgrade. Rumors suggest that HyperOS 4 could be introduced in China as early as next month, while the global announcement may follow in September. The new skin is expected to debut alongside the Xiaomi 18 series around October, before rolling out to older devices.
For now, owners of compatible Xiaomi phones should treat HyperOS 3.3 as an early step toward Android 17, not as a full replacement for HyperOS 4.
