Xiaomi has updated its official list of end-of-support devices, adding 10 more models sold under the Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO brands. These smartphones and tablets will no longer receive regular HyperOS updates, security patches or bug fixes.

For most of the devices, the news is unlikely to come as a surprise: many had effectively stopped receiving updates some time ago. The official EOL status still matters, however. Owners should no longer expect scheduled fixes, even if new vulnerabilities are discovered in the system. For devices that remain in daily use, this is now a security issue rather than simply a lack of new features.

The most notable model on the list is the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. Released in 2022, it was regarded as one of the brand’s leading camera phones thanks to its Leica camera system and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. The expensive flagship is now leaving scheduled support behind, even though its performance and image quality may still satisfy owners for years.

Most of the affected models were sold in China and selected regional markets. Some POCO and Redmi versions may also have been limited to specific countries. Owners of international Xiaomi 12 variants and related models should therefore check the support period for their exact device and regional firmware in Xiaomi Security Center.

Some newer Xiaomi smartphones come with longer support programs offering up to six years of security patches and several major Android upgrades. The exact period still depends on the model and region, while devices on the updated EOL list are no longer covered by such commitments.
