Apple has raised prices for every current iPhone model in Japan. The changes affect the iPhone 16, iPhone 17e, iPhone 17, iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The largest increase is 11.3%.

The iPhone Air saw the biggest jump, rising from 159,800 to 177,800 yen, or 11.3%. The iPhone 17 now costs 142,800 yen instead of 129,800 yen, an increase of 10%. The iPhone 17e rose from 99,800 to 107,800 yen, or 8%. The iPhone 17 Pro increased from 179,800 to 194,800 yen, or 8.3%. The iPhone 17 Pro Max now costs 214,800 yen instead of 194,800 yen, a 10.3% rise. The iPhone 16 gained 8.7% and now costs 124,800 yen instead of 114,800 yen.

Apple previously linked global price increases for Mac computers and iPad tablets to a shortage of memory chips and higher component costs. The company has not officially explained the latest iPhone increase, though it is most likely connected to the weaker yen against the US dollar. Prices remained unchanged in other checked markets. At the same time, Apple also raised iCloud+ and Apple Music subscription prices in several regions, including Japan. Apple attributed the Apple Music increase to higher royalty payments.
