Xiaomi has started rolling out a stable update based on Android 17 to its flagship smartphones. The new system is already available for the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra in global and European regions, although the firmware is being released in stages.
The update is being distributed under the name HyperOS 3.3 and weighs around 7.5 GB on the Xiaomi 17 and about 9.5–9.6 GB on the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. The changelog may mention only bug fixes, improved stability and the June security patch despite the move to a new Android version. According to early feedback, users should not expect major visual changes after installation. Xiaomi has kept the familiar HyperOS 3 interface, so the update mainly changes the system foundation and prepares the devices for future major features.
Android 17 has also started reaching the Xiaomi 15T Pro, but for now the firmware is available only to a limited number of Mi Pilot participants. Xiaomi previously included the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Xiaomi 15T Pro in its official Android 17 preview program.
The standard Xiaomi 15T is not part of the first rollout wave. Owners of supported models should free up storage and back up their data before installing, as the large package indicates a full system-platform update rather than a routine monthly security patch.
