Xiaomi has ended software support for eleven smartphones and tablets. These devices will no longer regularly receive operating system updates, new HyperOS versions or security patches. The list includes Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, Xiaomi 12S Ultra, POCO X4 Pro 5G, POCO X5 5G, POCO X5 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 12T Pro, Redmi K60E, Redmi 10 5G, as well as the Xiaomi Pad 6 and Pad 6 Pro tablets. For some models, the change applies only to specific regional variants.
This does not mean the devices will suddenly stop working. Owners can continue using them, installing apps, making calls and going online. Over time, however, the lack of updates may become a serious issue.
The main risk is security. The devices will remain on older security patch levels and in most cases will not receive fixes for newly discovered vulnerabilities. Extra caution is advisable for anyone storing sensitive data, using banking apps or paying for purchases through mobile services.
There is no need to replace a device immediately, but owners of the listed models may want to start considering an upgrade. Newer Xiaomi smartphones offer longer support periods, additional features and improved AI-based tools. The next major system release is expected to be HyperOS 4, but devices on the EOL list will not receive it.
