A video allegedly showing the unboxing of the still-unannounced Honor Robot Phone has appeared on the Chinese social network Weibo. The phone sits on the left side of the box, while the slogan “Your First Robot Phone” is printed on the right. The clip has not been officially verified, so the packaging may still change before sales begin.
The device’s standout feature is its main camera, mounted on a retractable mechanical gimbal. After the protective cover slides aside, the module unfolds automatically in about 0.8 seconds, accompanied by a dedicated on-screen animation. When folded, the mechanism retracts completely into the body and does not protrude beyond it. Honor previously demonstrated a working prototype with the pop-out camera at MWC 2026.
Once deployed, the camera supports 360-degree subject tracking, automatic framing, and 90- and 180-degree movements. Stabilization combines a three-axis optical system, a mechanism with four degrees of freedom, a dedicated processing unit, and artificial intelligence algorithms. Honor rates the system at CIPA 5.5.
Honor had already showcased the camera at the Shanghai International Film Festival. The Robot Phone was used to shoot video portraits of jury members, while the built-in physical gimbal delivered smooth camera movement without the heavy cropping commonly associated with electronic stabilization.
Honor has already opened pre-orders for the Robot Phone in China. The smartphone has passed MIIT and 3C certification, with documents pointing to charging support of up to 120 W. The official launch is expected in the third quarter of 2026, while leaks suggest August as the most likely window.
