Casio has introduced the CRW-H001M-8 Ring Watch, a wearable that combines the look of a miniature digital watch with the functions of a smart ring. Unlike most devices of this kind, which send all information to a smartphone app, the new model has a small built-in display.
The screen lets users check the time without connecting to a phone. The ring measures 25.3 × 19.5 × 6 mm and weighs 19 g. Its body is made of ceramic and stainless steel, while the display is protected by mineral glass. The device offers water resistance for everyday use and is designed for a finger size corresponding to an inner ring diameter of about 20.1 mm.
The CRW-H001M-8 can measure heart rate, blood oxygen levels and body temperature. It also tracks sleep, steps, calories burned and physical activity. The companion app includes workout logs, exercise analysis, health reports and menstrual cycle tracking. The ring supports vibration alerts for incoming calls and other notifications, a silent alarm, health warnings and customizable reminders. It also offers world time, a stopwatch, an alarm, an automatic calendar, LED backlighting and a 12- or 24-hour time format.
According to Casio, the smart module runs for four to six days on a full charge and up to 25 days in standby mode.
The Casio CRW-H001M-8 Ring Watch has gone on sale in China for 1,990 yuan, or about $295. For now, the device is available only in the Chinese market, and after-sales service is limited to the country.
