KEF has introduced the wireless bookshelf speakers LS Luxe, positioned as a more expensive alternative to the LS50 Wireless II. The new model features a smoothly rounded cabinet and comes in three finishes: Mineral White, Dusk Titanium and Eclipse Black. The speakers use a 165 mm Uni-Q coaxial array with a 25 mm tweeter mounted at its centre. The midrange and bass driver is powered by a Class D amplifier, while the tweeter has a separate Class AB amplifier.
The claimed frequency range is 42 Hz to 28 kHz. Sound can be adjusted with the equaliser in the KEF Connect app, which also handles initial setup and system control. Once connected to a home network via Wi-Fi 6, the speakers can stream music through Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Qobuz, Amazon Music, Deezer, internet radio and podcast services. Apple AirPlay 2, Google Cast and Bluetooth 5.3 are also supported. KEF plans to add official Roon Ready certification in 2027.
Wired connections include coaxial, TOSLINK, HDMI eARC and AUX inputs. Two subwoofers can be connected at the same time. A rear USB-C port can charge devices at up to 10 W, but it does not carry audio. The KEF LS Luxe are available from the company’s online store for $4,000 per pair. An illuminated KEF C3 remote control is included.
