GF Securities analyst Jeff Pu has shared new details about the iPhone Air 2. According to him, the smartphone could launch in spring 2027. The device is expected to use the A20 Pro processor, also planned for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. TSMC is said to manufacture the chip on a 2nm process.
Another notable change could be a smaller Dynamic Island than on the original iPhone Air. The main camera may be joined by a 48MP ultrawide module. Wireless connectivity is expected to be handled by Apple’s new N2 chip, a successor to the N1, which supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and Thread and improves AirDrop and Personal Hotspot reliability.
For 5G connectivity, the phone is tipped to receive the Apple C2 modem. The same component is expected in the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in selected markets. Some specifications may remain unchanged, including the 6.5-inch display, 12GB of RAM and an 18MP front camera.
