Honor will unveil the Robot Phone on August 12, but detailed specifications of the unusual smartphone have appeared online a week before the presentation. According to insider Digital Chat Station, the device will get a 7060 mAh battery instead of the previously mentioned 6000 mAh unit. The model is also said to feature a flat 6.3-inch LTPO display with a resolution of 2640 × 1216 pixels, peak brightness of 6800 nits and an anti-reflective coating for better visibility in bright light.
The smartphone will reportedly be powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Honor is also expected to use three in-house chips: C1 for stronger radio reception, E2 for power management and H1 for image processing from the camera mounted on the motorized gimbal. The main camera is tipped to use a 200 MP, 1/1.28-inch sensor with an f/1.6 aperture and a 23 mm equivalent focal length. The periscope telephoto camera may also offer 200 MP, a 1/1.4-inch sensor, an f/2.6 aperture and 2.7x optical zoom.
The Robot Phone’s main attraction will be a retractable motorized camera gimbal capable of automatically tracking subjects in the frame. The leak also points to 120 W wired charging, with a compatible adapter included in the box. Honor is expected to confirm the final specifications during the August 12 presentation.
