Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold to debut at APEC: triple-fold OLED, titanium body

Samsung is on the verge of one of the year’s biggest announcements — the Galaxy Z TriFold, the brand’s first smartphone with a triple-folding display, is set to be unveiled in just a few days.

According to media reports, the premiere will take place in South Korea during the APEC summit in Gyeongju from October 28–31. The event will bring together world leaders, including U.S. President Donald Trump, and serve as a forum to discuss the energy transition, digital technologies, AI, and biotechnology.

Samsung aims to tap into the summit’s global spotlight to showcase the Galaxy Z TriFold. Attendees, however, will only see the device behind glass — hands-on access won’t be permitted. A calculated showpiece approach, it puts the emphasis squarely on the form factor.

Current expectations point to a 10-inch internal OLED display and a 6.5-inch outer screen. Unlike the Huawei Mate XT, Samsung’s model uses a U-shaped mechanism to protect the display. The body is made of titanium, there are three batteries with a combined capacity of over 5,000 mAh, and performance is handled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip.

Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy Z TriFold in the U.S., the UAE, and Vietnam. The strategy signals not only a push for a technological leap, but also an effort to reinforce its lead in the foldable category.
