Fujitsu FMV UX-K3: ultralight 14-inch laptop for everyday work

Fujitsu has taken the idea of ultraportability up a notch with the FMV UX-K3, a 14-inch laptop that weighs just 634 grams. That makes it the lightest device in its class. The record-setting weight comes from a chassis built with carbon fiber and a magnesium–lithium alloy. At 17.6 mm thick, the company says the design still has the sturdiness needed for daily use and business travel, and the materials choice clearly aims to keep it light without feeling fragile.

Inside, the FMV UX-K3 runs on an Intel Core Ultra 7 255U, paired with 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD. Graphics are handled by integrated Intel Arc, tuned for power efficiency and moderate workloads, which points the machine at everyday productivity rather than heavy-duty tasks.

The 14-inch IPS display offers 1920×1200 resolution, a 16:10 aspect ratio, and 400 nits of brightness. Despite the ultra-thin body, the laptop keeps a wide range of ports and wireless options: Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, USB‑C (65 W), two USB‑A, HDMI, Ethernet, a 3.5 mm jack, and a microSD reader. There is also a 1080p webcam with a privacy shutter.

The main trade-off is the 31 Wh battery. It is rated for no more than 7 hours of video playback or up to 18 hours on standby. Charging goes through a compact 65 W USB‑C adapter that weighs just 150 grams, which makes frequent top-ups easier to live with on the road.

In Japan, the price is about ¥280,280 (around $1,860). For now, sales are limited to the domestic market, with availability expected through third-party import platforms.
