Realme has unveiled the GT8 Pro, a flagship positioned as the industry’s first smartphone to pair a mechanical modular design with a camera co-developed with Ricoh GR. It runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Ultimate Edition, is powered by a 7,000 mAh battery, and features a 144 Hz display.
The design leans into a “mechanical assembly” idea: users can swap the look of the camera module, picking between classic, metallic, or transparent options. The phone comes in white, blue, and green, with either a matte glass or faux leather finish—an approach that brings personalization without sacrificing a clean, premium feel.
The main camera, built in collaboration with Ricoh, adds a GR shooting mode with 28 mm and 40 mm focal length options, classic film-style filters, and anti-glare optics. It’s joined by a 200-megapixel telephoto with 3x optical zoom and a 50-megapixel ultrawide, a setup that clearly aims to offer flexibility straight out of the box.
Power is handled by a 7,000 mAh battery with 120 W wired and 50 W wireless charging, with a claimed 50% top-up in 15 minutes. The BOE Q10+ display reaches a peak brightness of 7,000 nits, while the new realme UI 7.0 promises up to five years of system updates—a practical nod to longevity alongside speed.
The base model with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage is priced at 3,999 yuan, while the top configuration with 16 GB and 1 TB comes in at 5,199 yuan, underscoring a spec-first positioning.
