Insta360 is preparing to launch a new compact 360-degree camera, the Insta360 X4 Air. It’s a lighter take on the X4 that keeps the core capabilities while trimming weight, boosting water resistance, and aiming for a more accessible price.
According to a leak corroborated by the device’s official packaging, the X4 Air weighs just 165 grams, records in 8K, and features FlowState stabilization. The package clearly targets outdoor adventurers and creators who value mobility without giving up image quality, a combination that tends to resonate in this category.
The camera is set to use a 1/1.8-inch CMOS sensor with an f/1.95 aperture, capture photos at up to 72 MP, and deliver full horizon lock even during 360-degree rotation. Battery life is listed at up to 90 minutes, and water protection is improved to 15 meters, making it better suited for rough conditions.
Insta360 X4 Air will be available in two bundles: a standard kit for €399.99 with a USB-C cable, case, and lens cloth; and a Starter Pack for €429.99 that adds a spare battery, a lens cap, and the brand’s “invisible” selfie stick.
Despite its compact body, the camera keeps the headline features: Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, microSD card support, a four-microphone array with noise reduction, and the ability to shoot in RAW and INSV formats. On paper, that balance of size and specs looks thoughtfully judged.
The official release of the Insta360 X4 Air is scheduled for October 28, 2025, and it is positioned to be one of the most appealing panoramic cameras in its price range.
