Samsung introduced a new development: Android XR smart glasses that blend augmented and mixed reality in a compact, stylish frame. The device was created in collaboration with Google and eyewear brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker.
Integrated into the Android ecosystem, the Android XR glasses allow users to interact with virtual objects, control content, navigate, and exchange messages using voice commands and gestures. The experience leans on familiar Android foundations, which should make the learning curve feel less steep.
Samsung says the design was built for everyday use. Gentle Monster shapes the fashion-forward look, while Warby Parker focuses on ergonomics and comfort. The glasses support real-time translation, navigation, and smart suggestions powered by Google’s Gemini AI—features that hint at utility beyond novelty.
Samsung has not shared detailed specifications or a release date. In a teaser at the end of the presentation, the company hinted at potential screenless models featuring only microphones, speakers, and a camera—a direction that reads as an emphasis on wearability and subtle, day-to-day functionality.
