Motorola appears to be preparing an update to its Razr foldable lineup, as indicated by a new patent published in the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) database. The filing showcases a device with a refreshed design that seems positioned to inform the brand’s next generation of compact foldables.
Patent images suggest the newcomer keeps the signature Razr flip form factor while adopting a reworked exterior. The camera array is shown in a vertical layout with three modules set on the same plane as the cover display. Visually, the cluster resembles a rounded panel shifted toward the edge of the body. The layout reads as a move toward a cleaner, more integrated look that lets the outer screen take center stage. Inside, the main display again stretches across nearly the entire unfolded surface.
Analysts at XpertPick note that Motorola is likely developing a new Razr variant that combines compact dimensions with a distinctive visual style. At the same time, the company is unlikely to walk away from its models with a large external display; this device may arrive as an alternative branch of the Razr family or an experimental take rather than a direct successor to the Razr 50 Ultra.
Still, as with most patents, there remains a real possibility that the design never reaches mass production. Motorola may have filed the documentation to protect a technology or visual concept rather than to ship a finished device.
