Redmi K90 brings Snapdragon 8 power, 7,100 mAh and 100W charging

Xiaomi has unveiled the new Redmi K90, already being described as the most advanced base smartphone in the K series. It pairs the Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition processor with a 7,100 mAh battery and a flagship-grade design, while the starting price is just 2,599 yuan (about $356). Taken together, the specs make it look competitive even next to pricier phones.

The device features a 6.59-inch display built on a Super Pixel RGB panel with 2510x1156 resolution, protective glass, and support for Xiaomi Qingshan 3.0 eye protection. It uses premium M10 materials to deliver a bright, distortion-free picture and comfort during extended viewing.

Performance is handled by the powerful Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition working with the Tier 3 Frozen Pump cooling system—a circulating pump designed to lower temperatures under load. The phone carries enough energy for nearly two days, and 100W fast charging refills the battery in just minutes.

The camera setup also impresses: a triple array with a 50 MP main camera, a 50 MP telephoto with 2.5x zoom, and an 8 MP ultrawide. The mix feels well balanced for everyday shooting, from wide scenes to closer details.

Taken as a whole, the Redmi K90 suggests that a budget smartphone can look and perform like a premium device without the premium price.
