With just days left before the official release of the DJI Neo 2, leaks now outline almost every detail of the compact drone. Global pricing, official images, and even specifications have surfaced, all pointing to a meaningful upgrade over the original.
Sources in China indicate DJI plans to launch the Neo 2 by the end of October; the company has even posted a teaser dated October 30. Judging by a silhouette with a propeller and protective shroud, the drone appears to keep its predecessor’s shape while adding several important refinements.
Insider Igor Bogdanov shared photos suggesting the Neo 2 now carries an improved two-axis stabilizer, as well as front-facing omnidirectional sensors positioned on either side of the camera. The main module uses a 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensor, which should noticeably improve video quality. A removable module is visible on the rear; according to The New Camera, it could be part of the OcuSync 4 transmission system aimed at stable, high-speed connectivity.
The new camera supports 4K recording at 60 frames per second, 10-bit HDR, and the D-Log M profile, positioning the Neo 2 as a more professional tool than the first generation. The dynamic range is said to reach 13.5 stops, bringing it closer to the capabilities of higher-tier Mini drones.
Pricing, according to the same source, starts at $229 for the base kit, with bundles reaching $449 depending on the accessories. The most expensive option includes multiple batteries, a controller, and FPV add-ons.
If the leaks hold, the DJI Neo 2 aims to balance an accessible price with pro-leaning features—an approach that could make it a strong reference point among compact drones. An official announcement is expected in the coming days, and given the scale of the leak, DJI may already be preparing to open preorders.
