Lenovo’s next handheld gaming PC, the Legion Go 2, could make its debut at IFA 2025 in Berlin from September 5 to 9. While the launch had been expected closer to year’s end, a new leak from insider Evan Blass points to an earlier reveal, sharing marketing materials with images of the device. The move suggests Lenovo is ready to move fast rather than draw out the hype cycle.
The headline upgrade is a 144 Hz OLED display with 1080p resolution and VRR support—precisely what the first-gen model was missing. Lenovo also touts a new Next-Gen Excimer coating to boost durability and make upkeep simpler. It reads like a deliberate push to elevate the screen experience and cut down on everyday wear and tear.
Under the hood, the console is built around the AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme, combining a Zen5+5c architecture with Radeon 890M graphics—a combo that has already shown impressive early results in tests of the competing ASUS ROG Ally X. Rounding out the package are two USB-C ports, a microSD slot, refined controller ergonomics, and support for the brand’s “console mode.” On paper, the spec sheet looks confidently competitive.
If the rumors check out, the Legion Go 2 is shaping up to be one of IFA 2025’s most anticipated announcements, promising PC-class power in a compact handheld and squaring up against rivals like ASUS and Ayaneo. The direction feels clear: address the first model’s omissions and double down on speed, visuals, and comfort.
