Rumors are swirling that Naughty Dog may be working on the next installment in the Uncharted series — potentially titled Uncharted 5. According to information shared by the account Naughty Dog World on X, the storyline is expected to follow the adventures of Cassie Drake, the daughter of Nathan Drake, alongside her uncle Sam. The project is reportedly set to be directed by Shaun Escayg, who previously co-directed the spin-off Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
If the leak proves accurate, this would mark the first time Cassie Drake steps into the role of main protagonist in the core series, continuing the Drake family’s tradition of daring expeditions in search of ancient treasures.
Naughty Dog has yet to issue an official statement, leaving the authenticity of the report uncertain. Still, given Nathan Drake’s story came to a definitive close in Uncharted 4 and the positive reception Cassie received from fans, this narrative shift would seem like a natural evolution for the franchise.
First released in 2007 with Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, the series — exclusive to Sony platforms — now spans four main titles and several spin-offs. Over the years, it has earned its place as one of the most iconic action-adventure franchises in gaming.
