Sony's 200MP LYT-910 challenges ISOCELL with 8K HDR, debuting in OPPO Find X9 Ultra and vivo X300 Ultra

Sony is gearing up to release its first 200‑megapixel smartphone sensor, the LYT‑910, aimed squarely at Samsung’s ISOCELL lineup. The 1/1.11‑inch unit with 0.7‑micron pixels supports pixel binning to deliver 50‑megapixel images and offers 2x and 4x cropping without quality loss.

The LYT‑910 also enables HDR video recording up to 8K at 30 frames per second, and its dynamic range exceeds 100 dB—figures that put it in a strong spot against Samsung’s sensors.

According to an insider, the first phones to adopt the new sensor will be the OPPO Find X9 Ultra and the vivo X300 Ultra, both expected next year. If the hardware delivers as promised, the Sony LYT‑910 should help these devices stand out with finer detail, broader dynamic range, and confident image quality in difficult lighting.

No official launch date has been announced yet, though availability is expected in the coming months. The newcomer signals a notable step for mobile photography, bringing capabilities that until recently were reserved for professional cameras.
