Qwertykeys is preparing an unusual release: the QK65 MK3 mechanical keyboard, which blends a classic retro look with modern gaming touches. Unlike most models with built-in displays, this one isn’t limited to system readouts—it also lets you play mini-games right on the keyboard.
Built in a 65% layout, the QK65 MK3 echoes old-school game consoles with a gray‑purple case that nods to the Super Nintendo and the Game Boy. A color screen sits on the right edge with two control buttons beneath it and a small speaker nearby. The display can show both games and system status, while two rotary knobs along the top edge handle switching between connection modes and operating systems. The layout feels thoughtfully playful, as if a pocket console has been folded into an everyday board.
Early details point to both wired and wireless connectivity. The keyboard will also be offered as a barebones kit—without switches and keycaps—so users can assemble it to their taste. The company hasn’t shared specs, materials, or pricing yet, but it has confirmed five color options.
The announcement taps into the rising trend of keyboards with displays, yet Qwertykeys pushes it further by weaving in nostalgia and a bit of fun. That mix could widen its appeal beyond custom keyboard die-hards to anyone with a soft spot for retro gaming.
