OneXPlayer has officially unveiled the OneXFly Apex, a new handheld gaming console built around AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ 395 processor and Radeon 8600S graphics. The base model with 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage is priced at $1,200, while top-tier configurations climb to $2,220 — a clear shot at the premium end of the market.
This is billed as the first portable device with liquid cooling that can also connect to an external cooling module. With that setup, the system can push power draw up to 120 W, while the air-cooled version sustains up to 80 W — notably higher than most rivals. In 3DMark Time Spy, the console posted 4,083 points at 25 W, 9,035 at 55 W, 10,518 at 80 W, and 12,416 at 120 W. The spread neatly shows how performance scales with available headroom.
The OneXFly Apex features an 8-inch display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X memory, and two PCIe 4.0 SSD slots supporting a combined 8 TB. An 85 Wh battery aims to keep sessions going, and you can attach an external power pack if needed — a practical nod to real-world use.
On the software side, Game Freeze lets you suspend a title and free up system resources, while HandyKit serves as a quick-access hub for Windows settings. The console runs an 8-core Ryzen AI Max+ 395 and supports external cooling, plus it includes a mode for AI-powered features. The company notes that gaming remains the priority, which feels like a pragmatic call given the hardware focus.
In China, pre-order pricing starts at 8,599 yuan ($1,200) for the base configuration and reaches 15,999 yuan ($2,240) for the flagship. The external battery is offered at 399 yuan ($55), and the liquid-cooling system at 999 yuan ($140).
All told, the OneXFly Apex positions itself as one of the most powerful and technologically advanced handheld gaming systems available, going head-to-head with the GPD Win 5 and AYANEO Next 2. On paper, the package leaves little room for compromise.
