Creative Sound Blaster Re:Imagine: modular audio hub with DAC and AI

Creative has unveiled a new project under the legendary Sound Blaster banner: the Sound Blaster Re:Imagine, a device that blends an audio center, a DAC, and an intelligent hub. Built by industry veterans who worked on the original Sound Blaster sound cards, it is currently seeking backing on Kickstarter. The return to the storied name reads as a mix of nostalgia and intent.

Its defining feature is a modular design. Re:Imagine consists of a base station and plug-in modules that attach without extra cables. These components take on different roles: volume controls, mixing faders, quick-access buttons, and precise control wheels. The result is a flexible system that adapts to the workflows of musicians, streamers, and content creators, inviting hands-on customization.

The unit includes a high-quality 32-bit DAC, headphone and microphone jacks, an optical output, and USB hub functionality with Type-C ports. It supports Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth, and there’s a built-in chip with a 6 TOPS NPU to power AI applications. A 3-inch display shows settings, visualizations, and interfaces for those AI features, underscoring an emphasis on convenience and modern connectivity.

On Kickstarter, pricing starts at $329 for the Horizontal Cluster configuration. As with any crowdfunding effort, potential backers should weigh the financial risks as well as possible shipping and import costs.
