Samsung has released the first One UI 8.0 beta for the Galaxy S23 lineup, built on Android 16. The S91xBXXU8ZYHB build weighs about 3.1 GB and is already available in India alongside the September 2025 security patch, with a rollout to other countries set to follow soon. For S23 owners eager to test-drive Android 16, it’s a timely opening.
One UI 8.0 also brings a reworked Quick Share interface that now opens full-screen and follows a more straightforward logic. In everyday use, that should make sharing feel less fussy and more consistent.
Samsung has refined the AI-assisted Select feature and added a new Samsung DeX mode with screen rotation support—an understated change that should make the experience more flexible.
Built-in apps haven’t been overlooked either: Samsung Internet, Calendar, and Reminders have been updated, while the Weather app arrives with a fresh look. The company has also strengthened protection for Secure Folder, a quiet improvement privacy-minded users will welcome.
Owners of the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra can try the new Android 16 and One UI 8.0 features ahead of the stable release, as Samsung continues to advance updates for its devices.
