Polar has unveiled the Grit X2, a more affordable take on the Grit X2 Pro that holds on to almost all of the headline features while easing the price tag.
It comes with a 1.28-inch AMOLED display at 416x416, protected by sapphire glass. There’s an always-on option, and brightness adjusts automatically for easier readability.
Location tracking relies on dual-band GPS with support for GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, and QZSS. Navigation runs through Komoot, and offline maps can be stored on the built-in 32 GB of memory.
Under the hood is the Polar Elixir platform, enabling ECG recording along with blood oxygen, skin temperature, and heart-rate tracking via a fourth-generation sensor. A barometer, compass, accelerometer, and gyroscope round out the hardware for precise motion and environmental data.
A 310 mAh battery is rated for up to 30 hours of active training, up to 90 hours in power-saving mode, and up to seven days of everyday use. Charging is handled by a proprietary USB-C cable, and connectivity comes via Bluetooth 5.1.
The watch supports smartphone notifications, music controls, and Polar’s training toolkit: FitSpark, Recovery Pro, and FuelWise, plus sleep analysis with Nightly Recharge, Sleep Plus Stages, and SleepWise.
In the U.S., the Polar Grit X2 is offered in a single 44.7 mm size and a Night Black finish at $799.99. In Europe, the model is listed at €480 — a notable gap for a watch that keeps almost all of the Pro’s key capabilities.
