American brand Marin Bikes has rolled out its first e-gravel bike, the Lombard E. The newcomer comes in two versions, Lombard E1 and Lombard E2, both built around a Bosch SX Sprint motor, an integrated 400 Wh PowerTube battery, a carbon fork, and Shimano GRX hydraulic brakes.
The frame is aluminum and deliberately sturdy, while the carbon fork helps smooth out rougher stretches. Wide tires and the GRX braking setup round out a package that feels geared toward confident control on mixed terrain.
The key difference between the two trims is the drivetrain. Lombard E1 uses a mechanical 12-speed Shimano GRX system. Lombard E2 steps up to an electronic 12-speed GRX Di2 setup with wireless shifting and a Trans X Dropper seatpost, letting riders adjust saddle height at the press of a button.
The E1 forgoes both wireless shifting and the dropper post. Neither model includes a built-in display or support for a companion app—an uncluttered approach that will appeal to riders who value simplicity on the bars.
Both bikes come in two-tone finishes—white-and-brown or gray-and-blue—and are offered in sizes S, M, L, and XL. Pricing is set at €3,899 for the Lombard E1 and €4,699 for the Lombard E2.
The company has not yet disclosed the top speed, range, or torque—key performance figures many buyers will be watching.
