OneXPlayer APEX Strix Halo pricing, specs and release window on Ryzen AI Max

OneXPlayer has revealed official pricing and delivery windows for its new handheld gaming console, the OneXPlayer APEX Strix Halo, built on the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ platform. Sales open on November 9, with first shipments slated for late January 2026—a schedule that suggests a measured ramp to meet demand.

The base APEX configuration uses the AMD Ryzen AI Max 385 with eight CPU cores and Radeon 8060S graphics featuring 32 RDNA 3.5 compute units. The higher-end model steps up to the Ryzen AI Max+ 395, offering up to 16 Zen 5 cores and Radeon 8060S with 40 compute units. In aggregate across the NPU, CPU, and GPU, the system targets up to 126 TOPS of compute performance.

The console is fitted with an 8-inch display at 1920×1200 and a 120 Hz refresh rate with VRR support. Memory scales up to 128 GB of LPDDR5x-8000, while internal storage reaches up to 2 TB via PCIe 4.0 M.2. There’s support for Mini SSD expansion, a removable 85 Wh battery, and, on higher trims, an optional liquid-cooling setup designed for extended play sessions.

Pricing starts at $1,399 for the air-cooled base model with 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. The top configuration with the Ryzen AI Max+ 395, 128 GB of memory, and 2 TB of storage is listed at $2,239. Opting for liquid cooling adds about $60, a modest premium for those prioritizing thermals and sustained performance.

Among direct rivals, the GPD WIN 5 also runs on the Ryzen AI Max platform. On paper, the OneXPlayer APEX aims for a stronger value proposition: a comparable 32 GB/1 TB GPD WIN 5 carries a $1,599 retail price.

AYANEO is preparing its own take on the same platform with the NEXT 2, though it has yet to share specifications or pricing. For now, the APEX and WIN 5 lead the first wave of Ryzen AI Max handhelds, signaling how portable gaming is edging into laptop-grade performance territory.
