Huawei Mate 70 Air with 7-inch AMOLED: specs and price

In China, Huawei has officially unveiled the Mate 70 Air — a sleek, lightweight premium smartphone that pairs a generous display with impressive staying power.

The device features a 7-inch AMOLED screen with a 2,760 × 1,320 resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Despite a slender 6.6 mm profile, it houses a 6,500 mAh battery with 66 W wired charging. The phone weighs 208 grams and is rated IP68/IP69 for water and dust resistance.

Hardware varies by configuration: the 12 GB RAM version comes with the Kirin 9020A, while the 16 GB RAM model is paired with the Kirin 9020B.

The camera setup includes a 50 MP main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilization, a 12 MP RYYB telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, an 8 MP ultra-wide module, and a 1.5 MP color sensor. The 10.7 MP front camera is positioned for sharp selfies and clear video calls — a sensible match for the large display.

Running HarmonyOS 5.1, the Mate 70 Air supports AI-based features. Rounding out the spec sheet are a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.2 LE, Hi‑Res audio, Beidou satellite connectivity, NFC, and 5 W reverse wired charging. It’s a practical blend that aims to keep everyday use smooth while embracing newer standards.

Pricing is as follows: 12 GB + 256 GB — 4,199 yuan (~$590); 12 GB + 512 GB — 4,699 yuan (~$660); 16 GB + 256 GB — 4,699 yuan (~$660); 16 GB + 512 GB — 5,199 yuan (~$730).
