IKEA has unveiled a new generation of smart home products with full Matter support. As part of the refresh, the company rolled out 21 devices spanning three areas: lighting, sensors, and controls. The additions not only expand IKEA’s existing ecosystem, they also bring older models into compatibility with the open Matter standard—a clear push toward broader, hassle-free interoperability.
At the center of the lineup are KAJPLATS smart bulbs—11 models in different shapes and sizes with adjustable brightness.
Five sensor families also debut: MYGGSPRAY, an indoor/outdoor motion sensor that automatically switches on lights when it detects activity; MYGGBETT, a contact sensor for doors or windows that sends alerts to the user; TIMMERFLOTTE, which monitors temperature and humidity; ALPSTUGA, which tracks air quality; and KLIPPBOK, which detects water leaks.
In the controls category, there are remotes and smart outlets. The BILRESA series includes four devices: a two-button remote for turning lights on, adjusting brightness, and changing scenes, as well as a model with a scroll wheel for precise lighting control. Three-piece kits are available for each model.
IKEA has not yet announced pricing or a global rollout timeline, but preliminary information points to a launch in January next year. The company notes that the pace will vary by region.
