Grand Theft Auto VI officially delayed to November 19, 2026

Bad news for fans still counting the days to the next chapter in Rockstar Games’ storied series: Grand Theft Auto VI has been officially pushed back. The game was originally slated for May 26, 2026, but the studio now says the premiere will arrive on November 19, 2026.

That means an additional delay of almost half a year. GTA 6 had once been expected as early as late 2025, turning the overall slip into roughly a year. In an official note, the developers apologized for the hold-up and explained that the extra months will let the team reach the level of quality players expect and deserve.

Rockstar emphasized that the added time is earmarked for final polish and bug fixing. Given how often major releases stumble out of the gate with technical issues, the cautious approach is hard to fault. Even so, observers suggest there could be other forces at play behind the scenes, including internal challenges in the production process.
