Google Pixel 10a rumored to reuse Tensor G4 and add a brighter 2,000-nit display

Rumors about the upcoming Google Pixel 10a are starting to circulate, and insiders suggest the phone could leave fans underwhelmed. The handset is said to use last year’s Tensor G4 chip—the same one powering the Pixel 9 line—which signals a continued focus on keeping costs in check for more affordable models.

Storage reportedly won’t budge from UFS 3.1, and the camera setup is expected to be a dual system without a telephoto lens, so major strides in photography aren’t on the cards.

The one upgrade that may stand out is the screen: reports point to a display reaching up to 2,000 nits of brightness, making outdoor use in harsh sunlight noticeably easier.

At the same time, the Pixel 10a is said to miss several new AI features found in the higher-end tenth-generation lineup, including Magic Cue. An official announcement is anticipated early next year, and for now the device looks poised to favor practicality over daring innovation.
