Forza Horizon 6 will be the first game in the series to offer full cross-save support across all platforms: PC, Xbox, and PlayStation 5. Developers have officially confirmed this information, marking a significant step for the franchise as it prepares for its debut on Sony consoles later this year. The new installment is set in Japan, and from a technological standpoint, it clearly aims to reach the broadest possible audience.
Previously, cross-saves in Forza only worked within the Xbox and Windows ecosystem, but now progress will sync between Xbox, Steam, and PlayStation. This means cars, in-game currency, player level, and racing progress will be preserved regardless of where you launch the game. Start your career on PC, and you can pick up right where you left off on PS5.
Microsoft has long promoted cross-platform solutions through its Xbox Play Anywhere initiative, and Forza Horizon 6 appears to be a logical extension of this strategy. However, the question of DLC remains open: it has not yet been confirmed whether paid add-ons will transfer between platforms as freely as they do in Call of Duty. This detail matters because it could be a deciding factor for some players.
At launch, Forza Horizon 6 will feature over 550 cars, and all unlocked content will be available on any platform where you log in with your account. Additionally, the game supports cross-platform multiplayer, so Xbox and PlayStation owners can race together, albeit with a slight delay until the PS5 version is released.
