Google has confirmed that the disappearance of GameSnacks from Android Auto was a bug rather than a deliberate removal. The issue surfaced after a recent update, when the mini-games stopped appearing in the car’s launcher, even though they still showed up in the app settings on the phone.
GameSnacks debuted in Android Auto back in 2021, offering simple HTML5 games on the in-car display, but only while parked. The temporary vanishing act puzzled users, and it’s easy to see why many assumed the feature had been axed.
In comments on the official forum, the company explained it was a display glitch and said a fix had already been released. To bring GameSnacks back, users need to update Android Auto to version 15.3 or later.
With recent updates, including Android Auto 15.5, the mini-games have reappeared in the launcher—quietly reaffirming that GameSnacks remains part of the platform’s ecosystem.
