AMD confirms Adrenalin drivers still support Windows 10

AMD has confirmed that its Adrenalin Edition drivers will continue to support Windows 10, despite rumors to the contrary. The concerns arose after the Adrenalin Edition 25.10.2 update, whose release notes omitted Windows 10 and listed compatibility only with Windows 11 version 21H2, a detail that understandably unsettled some users.

The company explained that Windows 10 has not been removed from the list of supported systems; AMD is aligning with Microsoft’s policy that classifies the OS as being in its final stage of the lifecycle, with end of support scheduled for October 14, 2025.

Within the same update, AMD placed the Radeon RX 5000 (RDNA 1) and RX 6000 (RDNA 2) graphics cards into maintenance mode. In practice, that means these models will receive only critical fixes and day-zero game support.

A spokesperson also clarified that Adrenalin Edition will continue to run on Windows 10, and driver installation will use the same installer as on Windows 11. A sensible approach, given how many systems still rely on the older OS.

Taken together, Windows 10 users can comfortably stay on their current setup: AMD does not plan to discontinue support in the near term, and owners of earlier Radeon generations will continue to receive timely updates.
